Welcome to my Blog.... The material on this site has been gathered over a 50 year period in management. After the first half of my career in corporate management, I have spent the second half mentoring company presidents and executives. My turn away from corporate management was based on many reasons, but one significant reason was that in small companies, "they" were available and many times sitting in the room with you. there was no one in New York or downtown that had to approve of anything. You will see the term Mindset and Hands-On Management in many places on the web page. Mindset is the proper combination of perspective, perception and priorities. I address this more in my books, classes, and seminars. As often being more important than the "hot to" of management. Hands-On Management is not micro-management, however it does require being closer to the team than many management styles. It involves here is what is needed to be done and the help that is available; now tell me what you will do and often do it; and if you stumble I will be glad to help you. Another important aspect of hands-on management is covered in what I call the Dadamo Creed: "I do not profess to be an expert, but I do profess to be an observer. So listen to my observations, which are built on years of experience, and accept that there is more than one way to do things! In fact, listen to how I have done things wrong as well as right so you can avoid the same mistakes. Then, if I have challenged your mind-set and encouraged you to consider alternatives, I have accomplished my task." Enjoy the book. So in using the site, look for my observations and experience of all topics in management, from accounts payable to motivation to inventory to recognizing when some one is over there head in management. You will find information in my books, seminar topics and articles I have written along the way. Good hunting.
